Mycorrhizal fungi are those that have symbiotic relationships with plants and trees and form and important part of our ecosystems. The fungi help locate the hard-to-find phosphorous which is passed onto the trees and plants. They in turn return energy to the fungi in the form of sugars they obtain by way of photosynthesis. We see beneficial relationships like this occurring all over nature and fungi are often referred to as the original World Wide Web.
The artwork has been hand burnished onto 250gsm white Strathmore River Point paper with deckled edges and the total size of the print is 8 x 8 inches.
